Overview

Sneakerheads have long been defined as kicks-obsessed men, despite the fact that women are some of the most passionate hypebeasts out there.

Due to small supply, long chaotic lines, design bias, and limited sizes available, being a part of sneaker culture has long felt out of reach for women. But thanks to creative, relentless kicks-crazy ladies who refuse to  be boxed out, the definition of “sneakerhead” no longer means just one thing: you can be a woman, a man, old, young, rich, or poor, just so long as you love kicks.

Talent: Ashley Madekwe

Ashley’s unapologetic attitude and distinctive style made her the perfect choice to star in TNT’s electric new series Tell Me Your Secrets.

Ashley has embraced standing out with an assured confidence her whole life, refusing to compromise what makes her unique, including her love for sneakers.

So when friends told her that women should stick to heels instead of kicks, Ashley doubled-down on her love for trainers by becoming one of the first women to get a job at one of London’s most popular sneaker shops.

Concept Synopsis

Going further than just a showcase of style, the Queens of Kicks series gives a first-hand perspective on what it means to be a female sneakerhead, and why authenticity, creativity, and confidence are so important to that meaning.
